THE SIBO DOCTOR EDUCATION PRESENTS
Hosted by Dr Nirala Jacobi
I know firsthand that for tricky cases, I'd be lost without physical gastrointestinal (GIT) diagnostic techniques.
With these patients, I often rely on the skills of physical diagnosis as part of my analysis, including special reflex points, exam skills and manoeuvres to assess structure and function of their digestive tract.
You are invited to join an exclusive group of practitioners to get trained by the Master of physical GIT diagnosis himself: Dr Steven Sandberg Lewis (or SS-L, as we call him). We only have space for 100 practitioners to ensure personal supervision.
For the first time in Australia, we have created this training practicum to help YOU:
When you sign up for this live event, you will also get access to special online video training in basic GIT physical assessment — a perfect supercharge to your training if you are new to the GIT world.
We’ve got all the event details here for you to check out and look forward to seeing you at our live event in November.
Yours, Dr Nirala Jacobi
P.S. We have a limited number of spaces available.
Dr Steven Sandberg-Lewis is a Professor of Gastroenterology at National University of Naturopathic Medicine (NUNM) and Author of the clinical textbook ‘Functional Gastroenterology: Assessing and Addressing the Causes of Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders'.
"A MUST for any GI-focused practitioner!" Dr Megan Taylor
"If you have the opportunity to learn from SSL, in person, you would be crazy not to do it!" Dr Ilana Gurevich
"I utilize these techniques with almost all of my patients and some return just for the manipulation because they receive so much benefit" Dr Crane Holmes
"I've seen these manoeuvres provide quick and durable relief to patients experiencing GERD, nausea, and persistent abdominal discomfort." Dr Mark G Davis
A Special Training for Naturopathic Practitioners, GPs, MDs and Allied Health Professionals
Our commitment is to provide you with high-quality education on advanced concepts of manual physical assessment skills that you can bring into your practice. As well specialised GIT manoeuvres, you will learn gastrointestinal visceral manipulation, reflex testing, as well as emotional clearing techniques.
Dr Steven Sandberg-Lewis will run you through the full physical exam process. This evaluation includes tests for organ mobility, reflex point testing, muscle testing, therapy localisation and lingual-neural testing. Learn how to conduct this thorough examination across your patient's mouth, esophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver, gall bladder, small intestine, large intestine and rectum to gain a clear picture of gastrointestinal abnormalities or signs of disease.
Stomach and upper gut dysfunction can stem from structural problems such as partial movement of the stomach into the thoracic cavity. Learn the difference between a true hiatal hernia and hiatal hernia syndrome and how to manually assess and correct a hiatal hernia and diaphragmatic tension to relieve epigastric pain, SOB, GORD/GERD. Using this fascial release technique, you can resolve your patient's epigastric pain within minutes.
Become confident in alternate manual techniques involving occipital, thoracic and diaphragmatic manoeuvres to assess for structural restrictions. These procedures are helpful in the assessment of patients with more complicated gut issues and will add to your ability to provide expert advice and treatment for these patients.
Learn GI Chapman’s, Bennett’s and Riddler’s reflexes to assess for digestive deficiencies such as hypochlorhydria and enzyme deficiencies. You can use these GI reflexes to quickly determine patient's digestive deficits, which is extremely helpful in clinical practice to help you confidently prescribe the right supplement support.
As the connecting point of the small and large intestine, the ileocecal valve (ICV) is an under-appreciated structure. Chronic ICV problems can be the hidden cause to abdominal pain, SIBO and constipation. This important technique is a core competency procedure of this course. You will learn how to manually assess the ileocecal valve, correct open or closed valves, and give your patients relief from chronic ICV conditions.
Here we cover how to easily assess deeper GI organ function with special kinesiology skills across all abdominal organs: stomach, small intestine, liver, gallbladder, pancreas and colon. These techniques aid in prioritising your treatment plan based on the structure and function of each of these organs. Take the guesswork out of your prescriptions - learn how to truly know if your patients need pancreatic enzymes or other digestive support.
Chronic digestive disorders often have a deep-seated emotional component that can affect the enteric nervous system. This is sometimes evident in a patient's emotional state or stress level, but how do you assess for hidden trauma and emotional patterns? This module covers how to quickly assess emotional contributions using specialised kinesiology techniques to bring lasting resolution to your patient's digestive complaints.
